Roughriders Roll at Home
Crowder College baseball delivered a dominant and meaningful homestand April 7–11, finishing 5–0 while outscoring opponents 45–16 behind explosive offense, reliable pitching, and timely momentum swings. The week featured a convincing win over Neosho County Community College and a five-game sweep of St. Charles Community College — capped by Crowder’s annual Autism Awareness Game on Sunday, played with extra purpose and community support.
April 7 — Crowder 13, Neosho County CC 1
After a scoreless first inning, Crowder took control with a five-run fourth, the game’s turning point, and continued to pile on runs in each of the next two innings.
Ryan Stalony delivered the biggest swing with a three-run home run, finishing with three RBIs. William Beaudoin added a home run of his own and went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, while Spencer Mounce contributed a triple and two RBIs.
On the mound, Keyton Cook earned the win, allowing just one run over three innings before the bullpen locked things down.
April 9 — Crowder 8, St. Charles CC 4
St. Charles struck first, but Crowder quickly seized momentum with a three-run third inning that put the Roughriders firmly in control.
Maddox Morrison led the offense, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs, while Camren Stratton produced two hits and two RBIs. Crowder’s lineup applied steady pressure throughout the game.
Seth Carlson delivered a strong start on the mound, striking out six over six innings to earn the victory.
April 10 — Crowder 5, St. Charles CC 4
Crowder showcased its resilience in a comeback win highlighted by timely power.
Trailing early, the Roughriders flipped the game in the middle innings when Camren Stratton launched a two-run home run to erase the deficit. Paxton Flagg followed with a solo homer that proved to be the game-winning run.
Kaden Felan anchored the win with a complete-game effort, striking out nine and allowing just two earned runs.
April 11 (Game 1) — Crowder 6, St. Charles CC 5
Autism Awareness Game
Sunday’s matchup served as Crowder College’s Annual Autism Awareness Game, adding special significance to the series finale. Playing in support of autism awareness, the Roughriders delivered an emphatic performance in front of the home crowd.
Crowder jumped ahead with four runs in the first inning, but the defining turning point came late. After St. Charles tied the game in the top of the seventh, Crowder responded immediately with two runs in the bottom half to secure the win.
Spencer Mounce delivered a three-RBI performance, while Ryan Stalony added another RBI to his strong week. Will Rushing earned the win in relief after closing out the final innings.
April 11 (Game 2) — Crowder 13, St. Charles CC 2 (5 innings)
Crowder set the tone with five runs in the first inning and blew the game open with a six-run fourth to end the contest early.
Brady Nolen powered the offense with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored, while Maddox Morrison cleared the bases with a three-RBI double. Depth contributions continued as Carlo Almendarez drove in two runs off the bench.
Jacob Allinder made the statement complete, allowing just two runs over five innings to earn the win.
Week in Review
Crowder closed the week with a perfect 5–0 record, consistently applying pressure at the plate and responding quickly to adversity. The Roughriders scored five or more runs in every game, leaning on a core group that included Morrison, Stratton, Stalony, Mounce, Beaudoin, and Nolen.
Pitching depth remained a strength throughout the homestand, with Cook, Carlson, Felan, Allinder, and Rushing each playing key roles in controlling games and finishing strong.
