Roughriders Sweep Labette in High-Offense Doubleheader
Neosho, Mo. — February 17, 2026
Crowder College put together an explosive offensive performance on Tuesday, sweeping Labette Community College in a doubleheader highlighted by power hitting, aggressive baserunning, and strong pitching in key moments.
Game 1: Crowder 26, Labette 2 (5 innings)
The Roughriders’ offense erupted early and often, piling up 26 runs on 18 hits to claim the run‑rule victory in the opener.
Crowder scored in every inning, including an 11‑run third that broke the game wide open. Callie Cooper delivered a dominant performance at the plate, driving in seven runs while going 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Layla Pasley added a three-hit day that included a home run and five RBI, while Karlee McCallister homered and scored three times.
Carly Cook and Pasley also swiped bases as Crowder consistently applied pressure on the basepaths.
Pitchers Olivia Hemme and Tessa Groeneveld combined to hold Labette to six hits and two runs. Hemme struck out four in 3.1 innings before Groeneveld closed the door.
Labette was led by Skylar Hutchison, who went 2-for-3 with both RBI, and Amelia Miller, who doubled and scored. Defensively, however, Labette struggled with six errors, contributing to the Roughriders’ offensive outburst.
Game 2: Crowder 6, Labette 5
Game two was a far more competitive battle, with Crowder rallying late to complete the sweep.
Labette opened strong with three runs in the first and later tied the game 4–4 after seven hits through three innings, but Crowder responded with a pair of runs in the sixth to take a 6–4 lead. A seventh‑inning push by Labette fell just short.
Brianna Boileau delivered the biggest hit of the game—a two‑run single that proved to be the difference. Layla Pasley added a solo home run, her second of the day.
Crowder’s pitching again came through late. After Josilynn Wyrick worked the first 3.1 innings, Olivia Hemme returned to the circle and provided 3.2 innings of steady relief, allowing just one unearned run while striking out four.
Labette posted 12 hits in the narrow loss, led by Grace Strecker’s 3-for-4 performance and Skylar Hutchison’s two extra‑base hits and two RBI.
Despite the setback, Labette showed resilience in game two, keeping pressure on Crowder until the final out.
The Roughriders will return to action this weekend in Branson at the Turf's Up Classic.
