Roughriders’ Offense Shines in Big Win; Second Game Ends in 6–6 Tie at Dusk

Crowder Explodes for 11-Run Second Inning, Defeats Neosho County 15–7

Crowder College used a massive 11-run second inning to power past Neosho County Community College, earning a 15–7 victory at home on Wednesday.

After a scoreless opening frame, the Roughriders’ lineup erupted in the bottom of the second, sending 11 runners across the plate. Josie Henson and Madelief Croonen led the offensive surge, with Henson finishing 2-for-4 with three RBI and Croonen adding a two-run homer.

Crowder continued to apply pressure, scoring two more runs in both the third and fifth innings. Layla Pasley chipped in a pair of RBI on two hits, while Evelyn Comstock crossed the plate three times and added an RBI of her own. In total, the Roughriders collected 10 hits and drew seven walks.

Neosho County pushed back with a five-run fifth inning, highlighted by extra-base hits from Anna Eberle, Abbi Godfrey, and Kamden Bray, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome. Eberle led the Panthers with two hits and an RBI.

In the circle, Olivia Hemme earned the win for Crowder, throwing three innings with five strikeouts and allowing just one earned run. Neosho County used three pitchers, with starter Makenzie Escoe taking the loss.

Crowder, Neosho County Finish in 6-6 Tie as Daylight Ends Contest

Crowder College and Neosho County Community College ended their second matchup of the day in a 6-6 tie on Wednesday afternoon, as the game was called after six innings due to a lack of daylight.

Neosho County jumped out to a quick lead, scoring three runs in the first inning and two more in the second. Crowder answered with a four-run third inning, getting RBI contributions from Karlee McCallister, Callie Cooper, and Madelief Croonen. Evelyn Comstock added a triple and drove in two to help the Roughriders cut into the deficit.

Crowder continued to chip away, plating single runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to even the game at 6-6. Layla Pasley and Josie Henson each collected two hits, combining for four stolen bases to spark the Roughrider offense.

In the circle, Olivia Hemme provided three strong innings of relief, allowing just one unearned run while striking out three. Neosho County’s Pilar Cox threw all six innings, giving up eight hits and three earned runs.

With darkness making it unsafe to continue play, the game was ruled a tie after six complete innings.
