Roughriders Roll Past Moberly in Region 16 Quarterfinal
NEOSHO, Mo. – The Crowder College women’s basketball team opened postseason play in impressive fashion on March 5, defeating Moberly Area Community College 76-51 in the Region 16 Tournament in Neosho.
The Roughriders set the tone early, using a strong first half to take control of the game. Crowder outscored Moberly 23-14 in the opening quarter and continued to build momentum in the second, heading into halftime with a commanding 44-25 lead.
Crowder’s balanced offensive attack proved too much for Moberly throughout the night. Four Roughriders finished in double figures, led by Aubri Wilson, who scored a game-high 22 points. Wilson shot 7-of-15 from the field, knocked down two three-pointers, and was perfect from the free throw line, going 6-for-6. She also added three assists.
Lexie Henry followed with 19 points, connecting on three shots from beyond the arc while shooting 7-of-14 from the field. Abbey Green added 14 points on an efficient 6-of-10 shooting performance and contributed five rebounds, a block, and two steals.
Barbara Perandini chipped in seven points and two assists, while Camdyn Hart filled the stat sheet with four points, five rebounds, four assists, and a block.
Off the bench, Kylee Cole provided a spark on the boards, pulling down a team-high seven rebounds to go along with four points. Cecilia Scarpatti added five steals and three rebounds, helping fuel Crowder’s defensive effort.
The Roughriders finished the game shooting 39.7 percent from the field and converted 16-of-21 free throws. Crowder also forced 28 turnovers and turned defense into offense, recording 11 steals in the victory.
With the win, Crowder (18-12) advances to take on #6 State Fair in the Region 16 Semifinals. The Roughriders will play at State Fair on Tuesday at 6:00 PM
