Balanced Attack Lifts Crowder Over Moberly
Crowder College put together a strong all-around performance Wednesday night, rolling past Moberly Area Community College 81–55 at Bob Sneller Gymnasium.
The Roughriders set the tone early, jumping out to a 20–12 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. Crowder continued to build momentum in the second period, taking a 35–25 advantage into halftime behind balanced scoring and steady defensive pressure.
Crowder’s offense clicked in the third quarter, outscoring Moberly 25–17 to stretch the lead to 60–42. The home team stayed aggressive in the final frame, adding 21 more points to seal the 26-point victory.
Aubri Wilson led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting while also dishing out six assists. Abbey Green was efficient in the paint, finishing with 13 points and four rebounds, and Lexie Henry added 11 points and six boards. Kylee Cole reached double figures with 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers. Camdyn Hart had a team high 3 steals.
Crowder shot 47.5 percent from the field and converted 16-of-19 free throws (84.2 percent) on the night. The Roughriders stingy defense forced 23 turnovers that helped fuel their offensive runs.
Several players provided key contributions off the bench, including Cecilia Scarpatti with nine points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting night and ShaLyn Edmondson, who added eight points while hitting two shots from beyond the arc.
With the win, Crowder improves to 15-6 and 3-2 in Region 16. The Roughriders will host #12 State Fair on Saturday in a 2:00 PM match up.
